1. Family Fun Yoga Day
The Black Mountain Recreation Center at 599 Greenway Road is offering this fun yoga event for all ages on September 23rd from 10am to 12pm. No experience is needed to take part. This event includes hug healing, yoga games, yoga poses, and mindfulness education, which can benefit your loved one both mentally and physically. Another bonus for your loved one is the option to participate in this event with the grandkids and other family members. All participants need to wear exercise attire and bring a big towel and a water bottle. Admission is $10.50 for all ages.
The Valley View Recreation Center at 500 Harris Street is hosting this popular annual tournament for ages 45 and over on September 28th and 29th from 8am. to 6pm. This sporting event includes men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles played in a round-robin format, and your loved one will have the chance to socialize and work out while having fun. Registration is $12 and due by September 25th, and it includes a free T-shirt.
3. Heritage Harvest Festival
The City of Henderson Heritage Park Senior Facility at 300 South Racetrack Road will be hosting this free fair on October 1st from 11am. to 2pm. The event will feature a craft fair, petting zoo, free popcorn, and exciting games for all generations. This festival also incorporates a range of senior health information booths and screenings where your loved one can get answers to basic health questions and have his or her blood pressure checked.
4. Henderson Community Expo 2016
The Galleria Mall at Sunset, located off NV-562 at 1300 West Sunset Road, is hosting this free exposition on October 15th from 11am. to 3pm. There will be over 100 area businesses, community groups, and local police and fire departments exhibiting. At this event, your loved one can learn about local services, public safety, fire and crime prevention, and health and wellness.
